About Clinton Township, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Clinton Township, Michigan was first settled in 1782, and was the site of the first wagonway into Michigan's interior, the Moravian Trail laid out in 1785. The township organized in 1818 under the name of Huron Township, called after a local river. In 1824 the Michigan Territorial Legislature re-named both the river and the township to honor former New York governor DeWitt Clinton, who had been instrumental in building the Erie Canal. The township was chartered in 1989, and today has nearly 100,000 residents. It is home to the Italian American Cultural Society, an organization that sponsors events throughout the year including special dinner buffets, holiday celebrations, Italian movie nights, a summer bocce league and the annual Festa della Reppublica in June with music, dancing and regional Italian food specialties.

Clinton Township winters are cold but not too snowy, and the summer weather is quite mild. Every year in late September, when temperatures are in the mid-70s, the township sponsors its Festival of the Senses, which features live entertainment, a dog parade, children's games and activities, specialty foods and a vintage baseball game. The 11 community parks include sports fields, playgrounds, a dog park and a historic village complete with an old schoolhouse which dates back from the township’s earliest days when it was home to a Moravian mission.
