About Washington Township, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Washington Township, a community of about 25,000 residents in northern Macomb County, Michigan, was first surveyed in 1818 and welcomed its first settler two years later. The township built its first church in 1823, and had a log schoolhouse by 1824. In 1827 it was organized, and the name was chosen to honor the first president. Washington Township has historically been a farming community, and even today has four major orchards: Bowerman's Orchard and Greenhouse, Verellen's Orchards and Cider Mill, Miller's Big Red Apple Orchards and Cider Mill and Westview Orchards and Adventure Farm. The town's most famous former resident is musician Kid Rock, who was born and raised there.

Washington Township is home to the Loren Andrus Octagon House, an Italianate mansion completed in 1860 and today welcoming visitors to special events including themed tea parties and an annual winter holiday celebration with over 80 decorated trees. Another popular annual event taking place in Washington township is the Art & Orchard Festival, which happens each June and feature a carnival, an arts-and-crafts show, a fun run, a community wide garage sale, family entertainment, kids games and a pancake breakfast. Washington Township enjoys mild summers, pleasant spring and fall weather, and winters which are chilly but not overly harsh as can be the case in more northern parts of the state.
