About Rochester, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The first family to settle in Rochester, Michigan were the Grahams, who built a log cabin in 1817 on what is now the corner of Second and Main Streets in downtown. The Village of Rochester was formed in 1869, named for the city of Rochester in New York from where many of the region's earliest settlers came. The village incorporated as a city in 1967, and today this Detroit suburb has about 12,500 residents. Rochester is known for its historic architecture – 22 buildings on Main Street have been standing for over 50 years, and the oldest, the 1849 Rollin Sprague Building, has housed the Home Bakery since 1930. Famous Rochester natives have included former Red Sox catcher and team captain Jason Varitek and burlesque artist Dita Von Teese.

Rochester is known for its annual Rochester Hometown Christmas Parade, which has been held each December since 1951 and today has over 100 units, making it Michigan's largest Christmas parade. Rochester also celebrates its chilly winters with the Fire and Ice Festival each January, which features snowshoeing, skating, tube sledding, dog sledding and other winter sports, as well as a large fireworks display. Springtime brings the Rochester Area Heritage Festival, held each Memorial Day weekend to celebrate the town's past, and in summer and fall the town sponsors a community-wide garage sale called Junk in the Trunk. Fall is also time for Arts and Apples, which pays tribute to local artists as well as locally-grown fruit.
